Eastern Seaboard Models Pullman-Standard Fluted Side Sleepers

This product line was first released by ESMC in the Summer of 2000. Each kit is based on a specific eastern railroad prototype. The initial releases included highly-detailed etched and plated brass sides; the full American Limited passenger car core kit with roof, floor, ends, underbody details, trucks and operating diaphragms; Micro-Trains® standard couplers; metal weight; custom decals with full car rosters; stainless steel grabiron/handrail wire; and blue tint and frosted opaque window film.

This product line was released the fall of 2005. These items are either urethane resin castings or injection molded plastic, depending upon the size of the prototype roster. The resin sides are cast from computer generated rapid prototype masters, while the plastic sides are tooled from computer designed solid models. Each pair of car sides is based on a specific prototype. These car sides are designed to be integrated with the American Limited passenger car core kit (sold separately). The car sides also are designed to have free-standing grab irons (also sold separately). Numerous kits are available with a variety of road-specific variations.
