Milton Bradley/Hasbro, 1961, 2 players, ages 8 and up. Stratego is the classic introduction to strategy gaming for children of the baby boom (and pretty much every generation since). Every kid in the western world seems to get exposed to this game at some point or other, and I was just plain thrilled to find out that my son (nine at the time) had been introduced to it at his afterschool program. Naturally I went right out and bought a set and we've been playing it ever since. Just think, in a couple of years I can introduce him to Risk, and shortly thereafter real games. I can't wait! :-)
