Pictionary Inc (by way of Western Publishing and The Games Gang), 1985, 3-16 players (divided into teams), ages 12 and up. Another popular family game following closely on the heels of Trivial Pursuit. In Pictionary, teams take turns drawing randomly drawn nouns or verbs in an effort to get their teammates to guess what it is they're drawing. A one minute sand timer is provided for a time limit. Game pieces and board movement provide a simplistic mechanism for determining a winner and that's about it. The drawing is what the game is all about. Basically they've taken charades and replaced mime with drawing. It's pretty entertaining in small doses.
