Here's what Bill Denton (Skytop Models) has to say about this 2019 resin kit car -
Master ModuTrak modeler, Vince Kotnik built this accurately detailed Pacific Fruit Express R-70-11 or R-70-12 class 52 foot mechanical reefer and he was kind enough to let me cast his master model. It has the correct number of ribs and spacing for these PFE cars. It will fit on a Micro-Trains 51'3-3/4" mechanical reefer underframe (either rib or smooth side). Decals are available from Microscale and are their decal set #60-1340.
You will need a freight car ladder for the non brake wheel end of the car. An Intermountain ladder fits perfectly since their car end was used in the master model. However if you don't have one in your parts box, BLMA #400 (now Atlas) Early Freight Car Ladders should do the trick. A Plano #250 50 ft boxcar roofwalk will fit nicely if you are modeling the as built appearance of these cars.
The prototypes were built in 1960 and then rebuilt in the early 1970's.
