Fox Valley Models / Red Caboose (USA/China) Bi-Level Closed Auto Rack

These models were originally produced by Red Caboose. Fox Valley Models purchased the tooling for the cars in 2017 and started selling them in FVM packaging in 2021. A special run of these models was contracted by Intermountain in 2021 as well -

The models feature see-through sides and Micro-Trains couplers and trucks. A limited number of them are configured such that the door on the "A" (non-brake) end can be opened.

Railroads started transporting automobiles in open auto racks starting around 1960. During the 1970s, railroads started transitioning to closed cars. This car (based on its end door configuration) represents a prototype that would've been built around 1980.
