Sandka Kan (one of those nigh anonymous Chinese toy manufacturing conglomorates) manufactured these models for both Life-Like and Industrial Rail. Same models, same paint schemes, different packaging. Bev-Bel and Con-Cor also sold them (designated as "45' rib-side hoppers"), reproducing them in paint schemes not available directly from the factory.
I don't know what specific prototype these models might be based on (if any), but they look a lot like the H11a hopper built by the N&W starting in the early 1960s.
